FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS...
Does the Pumpkin Picking ticket include a pumpkin?
No , the ticket is for entry to the pumpkin patch and photo opportunities. Any pumpkins you choose are priced according to size and range from £2 for the smallest up to £10+ for the gigantic ones.
Are dogs allowed?
Although dogs are welcome in our grass car park and outdoor café areas unfortunately we can't allow them into the pumpkin patch, inside the farm shop, cafe or play area for hygiene reasons.
What should I wear?
We open in all weathers so please dress for the occasion. We suggest wearing wellies even if it isn't raining over-head: the outdoor areas have lots of muddy puddles to splash in, whatever the weather on the day.
Do you take cards?
Yes, we take card payments (including Apple Pay) as well as cash.
Is it accessible to prams & wheelchairs?
The farm shop, cafe and indoor pumpkin displays are accessible for prams and wheelchairs, and we have disabled parking spaces and a disabled toilet. Visitors with sturdy prams/wheelchairs can access the outdoor patches in dry conditions but we can't promise it will be possible - it depends on the conditions underfoot.
How long can I stay?
There is no time limit on the length of time you can spend in the patch or how long you stay at the farm.
Do I need a ticket to buy a ready-picked pumpkin?
No. We have a huge selection of ready-picked pumpkins available to buy from our indoor display and farm shop, with no ticket required to visit these. If you wish to visit our pumpkin patch to pick your own pumpkin, then you do require a ticket.
Can I carve my pumpkin at the farm?
This year we have an outdoor carving tent open for you to carve your pumpkins on site. After you've bought your pumpkins and carving kits you can access the tent free of charge. It is a self-supervised activity; we provide some carving design ideas and receptacles to leave your pumpkin waste.
I'm a carer, do I need a ticket?
If you are visiting in a purely professional capacity to assist someone for whom you are employed to care for, then you do not need to book a ticket for yourself, just for the person you care for. In this event, after booking please reply to your confirmation email to advise us to expect an additional person as part of the booking and bring your ID on the day.
What else is there to do at the farm?
We have a farm shop, café and plant centre open every day. During October the cafe will operate as a take-away with sheltered outdoor seating available. For the children, we have an outdoor play area with swings, slides and assorted farm-themed equipment to climb on. There is no need to book or pay an entry fee for any of these parts of the farm.
When is the best time to come?
The earlier you come in the season, the less muddy it will be and the better the pumpkin patch looks - the perfect time for photos! The later you come, the more chance your pumpkin has of lasting until Halloween. It depends on your own priorities.
How long will my pumpkin last?
Most un-carved pumpkins should last 3-4 weeks, and some can last several months. But as with any living vegetable, sooner or later they will go off and we can't guarantee they'll keep specifically until Halloween.
How many pumpkins are there?
We grow over 15,000 pumpkins in different patches across the farm. During October, we (the 'pumpkin fairies') top-up the public patches from our other supplies to ensure there is always a good choice of pumpkins in the public patches for you to choose from.
