FARM SHOP ASSISTANT
We're looking for a Shop Assistant to join our Farm Shop team, starting in mid to late April, and working through to the end of August and potentially beyond. The key requirements for this position are:
  • Excellent customer service skills – having a friendly, helpful, bubbly, confident personality with the desire to go above and beyond for our customers.
  • Eye for detail – you'll be responsible for the farm shop looking perfect: displays are full, produce is quality and everywhere is spotlessly clean.
  • Hard work-ethic – you will be on your feet all day, often carrying produce and re-stocking displays. It takes a certain amount of stamina!
  • Interest in fresh produce (or a good memory) – we sell a wide range of fresh food and drink and you'll need to know what everything is, and ideally where it’s from what it tastes like.
We aren’t a typical shop and this isn’t typical shop work – putting items through the till is only a tiny part of the role. It isn’t for everyone, but if you can take on a challenge with a smile on your face, enjoy using your initiative and thrive on a work-day full of variety, you’ll be a perfect fit! You will be joining a well-established and friendly team and in-house training will be provided. You're bound to learn a lot while you're with us. Prior experience in customer facing roles is desirable but not necessarily essential if you have the right personality and the aptitude to learn fast.

We can offer an average of 4-5 shifts a week between April and August, and if possible appreciate you having flexibility to work more during our busiest times (5-6 days a week) and less when we’re quieter (2-3 days a week). Availability to work at least one weekend day a week, as well as during the school holidays is essential. Shifts will be during the day with no evening work required, and will typically last between 6 – 8 hours. Pay will be based on the National Living Wage.

Depending on your own circumstances and the situation the farm finds itself in at the end of August - which is difficult to predict in these strange covid times – we may be able to extend the duration of this opportunity. However, for now we can only guarantee it up to the end of August. Please note this role isn’t suitable for school students looking for weekend and holiday work. It is more likely to suit University students who have a little time available in April / May and then finish for summer during May. It would also suit adults not in education who are looking for a role for the coming months with an immediate start.

To apply please send an email to: jobs@kenyonhall.co.uk. Please write a short cover note to explain why you feel you’d be suited to this position, and also attach a CV. Make sure you specify that it's the shop vacancy you're interested in.
CAFE ASSISTANTS
* We have currently paused recruitment for these roles while we assess the applications received so far. We may re-open recruitment in the coming weeks if we still require additional help. For now, please do not submit an application for the cafe vacancies.*

We’re now recruiting casual part-time employees to join us for our busy spring and summer season on the farm: from mid-April through to August. If you have a passion for customer service, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and would like to be part of a very hard-working team then please apply. Previous experience is desirable but not essential as full training will be given. A friendly, confident personality, good work-ethic and a willingness to learn are the most important things!

The role will consist of taking food and drink orders, carrying out, clearing tables, making and serving food and drinks, washing up and putting away of pots and equipment, cleaning duties and replenishing stock. We can offer between 1 – 4 shifts a week depending on how busy we are and your availability. The ability to work at weekends and during the holidays is vital.

Although we will accept applications from anyone aged 16+, these positions have previously suited students in particular, especially those in their final year of college who will be finishing early for summer. Wages will be in line with the National Living wage for your age.
