During the Asparagus season (May to Mid June) we open 7 days a week 10am-6pm

English asparagus has always been known as the best in the world. Our cool climate results in the spears developing slowly, which gives them a tenderness and flavour far surpassing those grown quickly under the hot Mediterranean sun.

We have 1 hectare (2.5acres) of Asparagus in production and a further hectare planted in spring 2000 which will start producing in 2002 and be in full production by 2004.

The season at Kenyon Hall usually starts in early May and continues until approximately 20th June. We cut the asparagus every morning by hand. It is then washed and graded ready for sale.

Other produce for sale with the asparagus includes rhubarb, new Cheshire potatoes, local tomatoes, preserves and cakes

We also have a large selection of culinary herbs, wild flowers, bedding and pot plants, hanging baskets and tubs. See other pages for more information

Asparagus is best eaten fresh, but will keep perfectly well for 4-6 days if kept cool and damp e.g. in a fridge wrapped in a damp tea towel. Recipe suggestions and cookery tips are available free from the shop counter.

We would ask you to telephone an order if you are travelling far or require a large quantity of asparagus for a specific date.
